Sledding at Dedham Country Day School with my friend
Today my friend Sarah and I went sledding behind a school. The hills were pretty big, and soon we discovered another bigger hill. We had to buy tubes because we were one sled short. When we arrived at the hills we started using the sleds we brought, and then my dad blew up one tube so that we could use it. We sighted our friends Amanda, Ally, and Nora, and we played with the tube, although, but sometimes we disagreed on who should go first, and how many people should go in the tube at once. We went down the hill different ways. Soon after, my dad had another tube that he blew up. So then it made it easier to share it. Me, Amanda, and my other friend Sarah, went down the hill, and we made a chain with our tubes. Amanda and Sarah were in one tube, and I was in the other tube. When you make a chain it means you hold onto each others snow tube handles, and go down the hill. When we were about to go down the hill, we noticed Ally and Nora just talking at the bottom of the hill, where our tubes were headed. We sledded/snow tubed down the hill about a million times. It got tiring walking up the hill every time after we had gone down the hill. It also made it hard to walk back up the because the snow was so deep. Then, Ally, Nora, and Amanda had to leave, and Sarah and I noticed a big hill, and it was like two hill put together. Unfortunately, we could only go on that hill once and then we had to leave.

BLIZZARD IS STILL DANGEROUS
BLIZZARD IS STILL DANGEROUS
BY:NUALA RODGERS (REPORTING FROM DEDHAM)The blizzard is still dangerous to drive in. I wouldn't recommend skiing, snowboarding, tubing in this weather because the gusts of winds are really blowing hard, and the snow is hard with the wind. In Dedham there is about 2 feet of snow. I was trying to shovel a little path to get out of my driveway, and boy, was that snow thick! I wasn't wearing my snow pants at first, but then, when I stepped in it felt like quicksand like I was sinking in, there was so much snow! But what's kind of frustrating is when you shovel, the winds are going to keep blowing, and soon, the snow will be right where it was before. A few hours after, I went back out. I was out there for about 3 hours, helping my neighbor, trying to sled, (but didn't success)and trying to make a snow house (not successful either)while my dad was using our snow blower snow blowing the driveway. NOTE: THE SNOW DRIFTS ARE BAD. I could barely move the snow was higher than my waist! Seriously! When you try to shovel sometimes its irritating because when you are trying to shovel one way, the snow blows on the back of your coat and it crackles, and if you are faced the other way, it blows in your face. My friends on the reporter team have to stay in the cold, and report for people watching the news, and I feel kind of bad for them because they have to stay in the cold standing and talking. And when your standing, you really FREEZE TO DEATH in this snowing weather. In some places in Massachusetts, the snow keeps escalating and increasing. Well, I'll be reporting some more later!!

THE DEDHAM TIMES: FULL REPORT ON THE BLIZZARD
BREAKING NEWS: BLIZZARD OF 2015
BY: NUALA RODGERS (REPORTING FROM DEDHAM)Blizzard of 2015 is really going
to come down hard. Make sure you
did all of your grocery shopping,
DEDHAM PUBLIC SCHOOLS: CLOSED
OFFICALLY. Power might go out
so make sure you have your batteries
in your lanterns and they're ready
to go. Most stores have their
lanterns sold out, so the best
thing that would work if you
don't have lanterns would be to
light candles. And if you can't
live without your mobile device,
you better charge it and savor it
just for the important things like
watching CHANNEL 5 on your phone,
or the radar. Tomorrow would be an
unsafe day to go snowboarding, skiing, tubing, (etc.)because the
weather is going to be bad, and its unsafe to go skiing in a
blizzard. But, definitely Wednesday is okay to be doing snow
activities because the blizzard won't be going on, but there
will be a whole lot of snow! It will also be unsafe to drive
in your car places because it will be very snowy, slushy, and it
will be hard to drive because there will be thick snow hard to
move, and if you don't wipe off your car that would be dangerous
too. So, only if it is a real emergency, don't drive places with
your car. There will be full report on the blizzard 24-7, so stay
tuned!!
My New T.V. Obsession: The Middle
So, ever since my favorite TV show Good Luck Charlie stopped producing new episodes, I was just trying to browse Disney Channel but, there weren't a lot of good TV shows. Well, a couple months later my mom started watching this show called The Middle. At first I said "Nah, this isn't going to be good." That is NOT true anymore now that it is my favorite show. So when my mom kept watching it, I started watching it. And now I LOVE it.
Its about this family that usually get into funny problems, and you don't even know how many laughs my family gets. But, when you watch it, you can relate to it very good because its like the regular family. Sue (the big sister) goes to her first boy party, Axl, (big brother one year older than Sue) is with his friends trying to be mean to Sue to be cool in front of his friends, and Brick, (fifth grader, youngest sibling) kind of nerd-type, always wandering to different places, if you watch it, you'll totally relate to what I'm saying. I highly recommend it. Sue is the main character, and she is very funny, and she sometimes tries to do something, and when the subject isn't that good, she pretty much fails.
Well, I don't want to give it all away, but you can check it out on ABC family. Again, you'll get a lot of laughs out of it, and you will relate to it a lot. Check it out!😃

Part 2 of Patriots "Deflate-gate" (Bill Belichick)
So now that I see Bill Belichick talking "Science guy" he seems more honest and more detailed about this subject. I think he did a great job talking about it more, with more details and not just saying at the end "I've told you everything I know", and, "I have no knowledge of that." Because, lets face it. In his first press conference he didn't tell a lot, and he just didn't pull it of that well. He had only a couple major stories, and then he couldn't answer the questions well. But, sunshine and light!! In his second press conference he did great, and told way more of the story. Reporters were calling him the "science guy" because he was so detailed, and more marvelous then usual. But then they put on the real science guy Bill Nye, and he was insulting Belichick, and doing some science experiments trying to tell Bill he was wrong and throw him under the bus. And what was a real dissapointer was right at the end he said "GO SEAHAWKS!"

Patriots "Deflate-gate"
Literally, why did the Patriots have to deflate 11 out of the 12 game balls? Seriously. I definitely think that Belichick could've said more, and he definitely knew way more than he said. And I think it was cheap when he just kept saying at the end "Ive told you everything I know" And then when the reporters would ask another question he again would say "Ive told you everything I know, I have no knowledge of that." And when he said at the end "ask Tom", I thought that was totally uncoachlike, and I felt like he was just trying to get the press conference over with. I think Bill totally did NOT want to talk about the deflated balls, but I get it. Who wants to talk about if their team deflated balls? I wouldn't if I was him. I just think that Belichick didn't like the subject he had to talk about.
Second is Brady's press conference..... you could tell that he didn't like talking about the subject either. But I think he did a better job telling about it- more details, and more telling exactly what he did. I also think he did a better job answering the questions that the reporters asked. As I said, I think he did a good job telling exactly what he did. For example, he said that he picks out the amount of balls he thinks is good, and then gives them to the ball boys, and after that, never touches them again until plays are in action.
But what I also think is not good is that the refs handle the balls EVERY SINGLE PLAY and they only noticed it once. They didn't even take any time to push their hands into the ball to see if it had any air.
Scientists were saying also that if you leave a ball/balls in a warm room, and then take them out into the cold, the pressure can drop, and the balls can deflate a little bit. So, you never know, it might not have been anyone, it could just be that.
And what I think they should do is they should interview every player that was on the field that game and ask them the questions that they asked Brady and Belichick. The Patriots might lose a draft pick for next year, or they might get fined. WELL, GO PATRIOTS!!!!😃

Soccer Clubs I am Involved in this Winter
Throughout the 2 seasons I have played soccer, I have really grown on it. This winter I wanted to try a a soccer club, but still participate in travel in the spring. I wanted to join a soccer club to get exercise throughout the winter because then I don't have to be rusty when I go back to travel in the spring. And, I love getting feedback no my skills, and learning ways to get around a defender moves that will help during the circumstance your in on the field. Soccer clubs have soccer players from around the world who LOVE playing soccer, and that are in major clubs form where they are from. When you play with them they are really into it. And, the coach has more expertise and is more experienced rather then a town/travel coach. (even though I LOVE travel soccer). So, in the outcome it was good.
I am in 2 indoor soccer clubs! YAY! The fist club I'm in is called Skills 11. The instructors call it "Skills 11" because every week they teach you 1 move by a famous soccer player, and you focus on the move the whole practice. You do games involving that move, and you do some other drills with that move.Skills 11 is every Sunday at 2:00 in Waltham. I've only been to 1 practice, but its very fun. We learned a move called the double touch.I worked with this gentleman from Scotland. He had kind of a strong accent of Scottish. But, he taught us very well. I think I will work with him for the rest of the session. Tomorrow I'm getting the shirt that they give out with the logo on it and information about it.
My second soccer club I am in is called Coastal North. It is at this school called Dedham Country Day every Saturday. I'm doing the club with most of my travel soccer team, and other girls from other team. Same with Skills 11, we focus on 1 thing, and do games for the skill, and then we play a scrimmage at the end. When we are doing the scrimmage, we also focus on the skill we have been learning, and try to practice it during the game so that when we are in a real game maybe we could do that skill to fake someone out.
I love soccer, so if I play it year-round its even better!!!!😊:-P
