Soccer

In the fall, I played soccer. As you know I'm a big soccer fan. My season just ended about 1 month ago. It was a very good season for my team. I mean, there were some ups and downs wins and losses, but I think we had a good season. Even though I like all sports right now I'm really into soccer. I've been to a New England Revolution game. In  school I made a story about when I went to the Rev game. I know there's loud noises and dropping pizza on the ground, but it's all worth it. It's way better watching it in person instead of on the T.V. You can see it better,  sometimes get front row seats. Just so you know, I got pretty close seats.  There's 1 out of 100 that you are going to get front row seats. you know the old saying   " You get what you get and you don't get upset".  Did you know that soccer is the most popular sport in the world? Soccer is an amazing sport, why don't you try it the next time your sitting/playing outside.Dribble. Kick. GOAL!.

Stay outside and try a new sport!

I hope you had a awesome Thanksgiving! For Thanksgiving my cousins from Maynard and Carlyle came, and so did my Grandpy and Grandma.  And we also took a family photo this is a picture of it. Kind of a bummer my dad could not be in the picture because he was taking the picture.
Anyways, I wanted to tell you about my play I did on Wednesday, the 27th. It was in my classroom. I was Sarah Josepha Hale. In the 1800's she was the writer and editor of a very famous magazine called " Godey's Lady's Book." And she also wrote Mary Had a Little Lamb in 1830. We had a sheet that we could circle 4 characters that we wanted to be, because we had to give my teacher options. Then when we went to the computer lab she announced who was going to be who. And she said " Nuala will be Sarah Josepha Hale." I was excited!  I practiced my lines so much, that I memorized my lines. On the day of the play, I had brought my " Godey's Lady's Book," and picture of Governor Bradford. I had a whole costume on for my part as you can see at the top of the post.  I read my lines loud and proud. At the end my Grandma had a bouquet of flowers for me. My dad took a picture of me and my teacher Mrs.Kieffner. And then we walked through the pouring rain to the parking lot. Once again I hope you had a wonderful Thanksgiving!

Title: Sarah's Birthday

"What are you going to do for your birthday?" asked Sarah's mom.

"Maybe lazar tag, or bowling, or at our house. I don't know?" said Sarah. Then she walked off to her room, and thought about where she would have her birthday. She could hear her parents talking about her birthday, in the kitchen.

Hmmmmmmm........ She thought how many friends she would invite. It was June 1st, and her birthday was June 11th. She could not wait until her birthday. Then she saw her invitations her mom had bought her this morning. Sarah immediately ran over to her dresser, grabbed the invitations. And started writing: who: Sarah Vega, when: June 13th 2013 where: Boom Zone, time: 12:00 to 2:00 R.S.V.P, juliev@yahoo.com.

Sarah decided to invite 10 friends to her birthday party. Then she ran down to the basement, and copied 10 invitations. She got some envelopes that were on her dad's work desk, and started writing her friends' names on the envelopes. Tessa, Emily, Kathrine, Molly, Emma, Maddie, Sophie, Rachel, Grace, and last but not least, Liv. Sarah put the invites in the envelopes. Then Sarah went back up stairs across her room to her desk, and decorated the envelopes with stickers.

The next morning Sarah put the invitations in her folder and packed up her backpack."Let's go to school!" Sarah said excitedly to her dad.
"OK, let's go!"

Then they walked to school. When they got to school grounds, Sarah's dad kissed her goodbye. "Have a nice day!" said Sarah's dad.

"You too!" yelled Sarah. Then she walked up the field, went to the basketball court, and lined up where her line was that day. Her teacher was at the front of the line. BBBRRRRRIIIIINNNNNNNNGGGGGGG! the bell rang. "Time to go inside!" said Sarah's teacher Mrs.Hayes. When they reached there classroom, and when everybody was seated at their desks, Sarah handed out the invitations to the girls.

All through the day Sarah was ecstatic about her birthday party. She kept saying to herself "only a couple more days until my birthday". At the end of the day, they had math. Sarah was in 3rd grade, so they were just practicing multiplication facts, then you could go home with the permission of Mrs.Hayes. It didn't take Sarah long to do her facts. She handed in her sheet, then the bell rang, so Sarah packed up her backpack, and said to Mrs.Hayes "Can I walk home now"?

"Yes you may" said Mrs. Hayes.

Sarah ran out of the school, and saw her dad waiting outside waiting for her.   Then they walked home together.

Once they got home, Sarah had to go to swimming lessons. So she ran upstairs got on her bathing suit, grabbed her cap that was on her dresser, got a ponytail tied her hair in a bun, got some pajamas  to put on after swimming, and yelled downstairs "I'm ready!" And her mom replied "OK  let's go!" And off they went.

Once they got there, Sarah put her bag of clothes in a locker in the girls room. Then Sarah waved goodbye to her mom, and went to where they would stretch before swimming, and started stretching with her coach, and some other girls that were on her team. After stretches it was time for swimming. All they had to do was practice backstroke and flips, because the swimming meet was coming up in August. And after that, you could go home. And after Sarah did that, she went into the locker room to change. She had brought a shirt that said Soccer ROCKS! with a soccer ball on it. After Sarah changed, she went to the room where the parents sat. Her mom was ordering a snack for Sarah. It was a bag of  goldfish. "Oh, thanks mom," Sarah said as her mom handed the goldfish bag to her. Then Sarah and her mom left to go home.

Once they got home, Sarah went up to her room read for a while then went to sleep. And before she knew it, it was June 11th her BIRTHDAY! Sarah woke up and yelled "YAY!" with excitement. Sarah almost tripped down the stairs she was going so fast.

There was a card on the piano stand, and some presents on the couch. Sarah opened the card it said: happy 9th BIRTHDAY Sarah! Love, mom+dad. She ran into her mom and dad's bedroom and said "thank you," for the card. "Your welcome Sarah," they both said at the same time. Then Sarah went back into the  living room, and opened her presents. One was from her mom+dad, and another was from her grandma+ grandpa, and the last was from her aunt+uncle. The present from her mom+dad was a Rainbow Loom kit. The present from her grandma+grandpa was Shrinkie Dinks. And last but not least, the present from her aunt+uncle was a gift card to Toys R Us.When Sarah got dressed she put on her birthday girl shirt. And she put on the birthday girl pants that went with it.  She brushed her teeth, and brushed her hair. Went downstairs, and watched T.V.

That day Sarah got a couple of calls from her family singing "Happy Birthday" to Sarah.

And a couple of days later, Sarah woke up,  and on her calender the box that didn't have an X over it was the 13th. Sarah did a little victory dance. "Uh huh, oh yeah, uh huh, oh yeah" Sarah sang. "YAY!" "It's BOOM ZONE DAY!" It was  7:00, "Ugh! I don't want to wait 5 hours until my birthday party, but I'm going to have to." Sarah put on her  BOOM ZONE IS AWESOME! shirt. And put on some jeans. Then as usual she brushed her teeth and hair, and went downstairs to watch T.V. By the time Sarah did all that stuff, it was 8:00. Sarah watched T.V. for an hour, and did Rainbow Loom for an hour, while her mom was packing up stuff in the car for the birthday.

Now it was 11:00. "Time to go!" yelled Sarah's mom to Sarah.

"O.K.!" Sarah yelled back. Sarah ran out of the house, and jumped into the car. Her mom and dad were waiting for her, in the car.  Then they backed out of the driveway, and started to drive to the BOOM ZONE.

When they got there, they set up for Sarah's birthday party. They put a tablecloth on the table, and got the cake ready, (etc.) It now was 11:30am. Five of her friends were already there. Then three more girls came so that equaled eight girls. Then two more girls came. YAY!  All ten girls showed up! Sarah could not have been happier. The girls put their presents they had brought on a table in the birthday room. Then they got ready for battle. Laser battle!

Sarah's mom told all the girls including Sarah, that there were four things that we were going to do:
 1. Lazar tag 2. Arcade 3. Cake and ice cream 4. Presents. "Let's go pick our names, and get our activators!" Sarah's  name was Captain Birthday. Once every girl had picked their names, and got their activators, we went into the room where you get your laser gun. Sarah put on her laser gun thingy, and activated her laser gun. It said Welcome! captain birthday on the laser gun screen.

The instructor opened the door, and ten girls were on a team, so they stuck together. Some of the girls on Sarah's team got lasered a lot. But not Sarah. In fact, in the end they announced who was the winner, and it was Sarah.

The girls met Sarah's mom in the birthday room. What's up next girls! ARCADE! the girls screamed with excitement. All 10 girls rushed into the arcade. Sarah and the other girls had tokens, so they could play the games. They all had enough tokens to play 10 games. Sarah played a game, and she hit the jackpot. Sarah got 1,000 tickets. and when the girls cashed in their tickets the got some toys. And after that, the girls went into the birthday room, and Sarah's mom said to the girls again: What's up next girls! CAKE AND ICE CREAM! the girls screamed.

So the girls sat down at the table, and stared at the cake saying: YUM!  And then they all sang happy birthday to Sarah, and Sarah blew out the candles making a wish. Sarah's cake was a picture of her playing softball. After you eat your cake,  you could have ice cream. And after every girl eat their cake and ice cream, Sarah's mom said to the girls, "Last but not least, WHAT'S THE LAST THING"? "PRESENTS", the girls screamed extra loudly.

Sarah opened 10 presents and they weren't just any old presents, they were special presents. She said thank you to every girl. And when the girls left Sarah gave them goodie bags. And when all the girls were gone, Sarah said out loud: THAT WAS THE BEST BIRTHDAY PARTY EVER! The End.

I hope you liked my blog!  Today after school, I went to karate. It was fun.  This is what we did: spars, stretches, forward roll, side fall, and I think that's it. I did a spar with Felicia. She is orange belt, and I'm a white belt, because this is my first year. We were laughing every minute of the spar. A forward roll is kind of like a somersault. But it is a little different. The only thing that is different is that you have to tuck in your chin. And last but not least, the side fall. If you were in right T-stance, you would start with your right foot and cross it over your left foot. Then  your right hand goes over your left shoulder, and then you fall to the side. And make sure your right hand slaps the mat  when you fall. If you did not do that your elbow might hurt.
